Memorial Day Weekend '04

We had a great Saturday in Rehoboth. Weather was an "11." Once we made it to the beach/boardwalk we had lunch at Grotto then went to Funland. The rides didn't open until 1 so we played some games. Drew loved the Frog Pond where you catapult a frog, trying to have it land in a flower in the pond. We spent a bunch of singles there. There is also an electronic drum set that you play along with music in a little booth. Drew loves it. If this kid doesn't become a musician I'll be surprised. As for rides, he's got some new faves. He loves the Sea Dragon (Bucaneer). It is nearly too much for my stomach but I'd never say no. He's also a big fan of bumper cars. Luke stuck to the ligher fare, fire engine etc. He did go on Paratrooper (Drew's fave from '03) with his bro and Mommy. Luke loved it spinning forward but when the ride reversed he said "I done." After dinner and naps back home, we went back to the boardwalk tonight around 7:30. It was too crowded so we did a quick ride, the helicopter, then a few games. Frog Pond and drums again. Then we hit Kohr Bros. for some frozen custard and Dolle's for some caramel popcorn. We ate it on a bench on the boards overlooking the beach. It better summer night can't be had. Great way to start the summer season.

Drew's first trip to the movie theater

I thought this memory would be great jumping off point to start our family blog. I took Drew to see Shrek 2 at the Lowe's theater in East Hanover, the 1:45 show. He seemed to really like the original, despite only seeing it a time or two just recently. We enjoyed the movie and snacking on popcorn and "ogre" M&Ms. The movie started right around his usual nap time but he was a trooper, only getting antsy during the final 10-15 minutes. We agreed we can't wait till Luke's a little older, then we can take him and mommy along too.
